After reaching the semi finals of the ongoing African Youth Championship in Niger, Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amunike has revealed that his aim at inception was to qualify for the FIFA U-17 world cup.
Amunike was part of the crew that helped Nigeria win the 4th FIFA world championship, the first in, the last in 2013 at the United Arab Emirates.
The Amuneke-led side qualified for the semis top of the group with seven points, and the 1994 AFCON winner has expressed delight that his boys will be defending their world title in at the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup in Chile.

“The most important thing for us was to go to Chile and I'm happy that we have achieved that objective.
“We played against a very good side which has very good players and our players had to be cautious to play a game we wanted and at the end of it we achieved what we came here for.

With this victory, Nigeria U17 ended Group A as winners and will have to wait till Sunday to know their semi final opponent. Goal
