Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has been told by the English Football Association that he has until 6:00 pm on Monday to respond to the improper conduct charges levied against him.
Poyet was sent to the stands by referee Mike Dean after he kicked a bottle of water during his side's 1-1 draw against Hull City, a conduct which is not allowed on the football pitch.
The FA have also contacted Bruce over a touchline row with Poyet and formally reminded of his responsibilities.
The incident at the KC Stadium occurred with Sunderland trailing 1-0.
Bruce described it as "grown men acting like children", blaming the incident on the "heat of the moment".
Poyet said: "What happens on the pitch stays there." BBC
