Team Lagos progressed to the national finals of the Airtel Rising Stars Season 5 after recording victories in both male and female categories of the regional qualifiers.
The Lagos boys beat their counterparts from Osun 5-3 on penalties after both sides had played a 1-1 draw in regulation time, while Lagos girls defeated Oyo State 2-0 with goals coming from Angela Mosindi and Ayomide Innocent.
However, Team Oyo, got a consolation beating Team Ekiti 6-0 to win the third-place match in the boys’ event, with Oyebode Hassan grabbing in the game.
While, Team Osun also had something to smile about as their girls defeated Team Ondo 7-6 on penalties after they had played 2-2 in regulation time on Saturday.
