Official: Nigeria To Play Niger In A Friendly In September

The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed that the Super Eagles will face their next-door neigbours, Niger in a friendly on September 9 in Port Harcourt.

The Nff had earlier proposed a friendly against the Black Stars but the Ghana FA turned down the request.

“The match against Niger is now confirmed for Port Harcourt after the AFCON qualifier in Tanzania.

“The other proposals to other neigbouring countries like Ghana and Togo did not fly.”

The nation's FA, who have stylishly switched venue after the issue raised by captain Vincent Enyeama are not sure which of the teams will prosecute this match – whether the home-based Eagles to prepare them for a CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso in October or the main the Eagles squad.

Port Harcourt was also the proud host city for a crucial CAF U23 Championship qualifier against Congo recently. Africanfootball
