German side, Wolfsburg FC have left Kevin De Bruyne out the squad that will face Schalke 04 on Friday night due to his medicals at Manchester City as his move to the Premiership draws near.
Wolfsburg coach, Klaus Allofs reveals that a deal is yet to be agreed by both sides, but admitted that City have made huge progress in their quest for signing the playmaker.
“We got closer," Allofs said. "Maybe there will be a decision in the next hours one or the other way – [the] latest on Friday.”
Wolfsburg have also confirmed that Ivan Perisic - who has been heavily linked with Inter - has been left out of the squad for the Bundesliga meeting with Schalke on Friday.
Brian Marwood, City's Managing Director of Football Services, declined to comment when asked about De Bruyne at the Champions League draw, but did indicate there could be players both joining and leaving the club before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
