Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh caught unawares after reshuffling his team for last Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at the Adokiye Amesimaka stadium, Port Harcourt. 

Two second half goals from Moses Simon and Efe Ambrose helped Nigeria qualify for the group stage of the 2018 qualifiers which will be staged in Russia after overcoming stubborn Swaziland 2-0 on aggregate.

Oliseh benched Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel as well as defenders Godfrey Oboabona and Elderson Echiejile and replaced them with NPFL stars Paul Onobi, Chima Akas and Austin Oboroakpo which eventually paid off for the 41-year old tactician after ending the first 135 minutes of the game in a barren draw.

Bulungu revealed that he noticed that the Eagles' game was very slow during the first leg and from his study and assessment of the Lobamba tie, the rested trio were the weak links.

"I believe the Eagles played a better game today than the first leg. They had very fast midfielders and were very exceptional today,” Bulungu said.

“They changed their tactics too by changing some players we thought they would use again just like the initial leg in Lobamba.

“We had planned our strategy to explore the Eagles weaknesses in the midfield and the defense because of the way they were very slow in the first leg but the Eagles' coaches changed that and this unsettled us," Bulungu said.

The Eagles are through to the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers where they may be drawn against the likes of Cameroon, Algeria, Senegal, Ghana, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Congo, Libya among others. Africanfootball
