Watford FC have been condemned to their first defeat in their last six English Premier League games at the Vicarage Road Stadium on Monday evening after losing to Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently occupying the third position on the log.
Erik Lamela opened scoring for the visitors on the 17th minute of the game, but Super Eagles' red-hot striker, Odion Jude Ighalo, put the Hornets back into the game with his 41st minute goal after connecting with Troy Deeney's assist.
Coach Quique Flores' men lost momentum in the game when Nathan Aké was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Lamela, before 68th minute substitute, Heung-Min Son, who replaced Thomas Caroll struck inthe 89th minute to deny the Golden Boys a deserved point at home.
Meanwhile, Ighalo's lone goal in his side's defeat to Tottenham brings his goal tally to 14 this season, but his seventh in his last six games.
The EPL new comers will be hosting this season's EPL title contenders, Manchester City on January 2, before welcoming Newcastle United on January 9, and both games will be at the Vicarage Road Stadium.
