Lionel Messi, after being crowned the best player in the world for the fifth time said that it was a magical moment for him and emphasized that it would not have been possible without his Barcelona teammates who have made him look so spectacular.
He said after receiving the award in Zurich: "It is a very special moment for me to be back here on this stage, winning again another Ballon d’Or after being there in the audience watching Cristiano win," he said.
"It’s incredible this is my fifth. It’s much more than anything I’ve dreamed of as a kid.
"I want to thank everyone who voted for me and I want to hank my team-mates. And lastly, I want to thank football in general for everything it has brought me. Both the bad and the good. Because it has made me learn and grow."
Cristiano Ronaldo don't mention anything about the award but emphasized on scoring and giving assists to help his team win games all season long.
Here's what he has to say; “My job is to help my team,” he says. “To score goals, make assists.
“This is what I love, to make people happy.
“It’s great. I’m a glad person and feel so special for that.
“My goal is always to be at the top level every season. It’s a challenge.
“I’m still young. I still want to play more years of football and make people happy.”
Neymar:“We all share responsibility,” he says.
“It’s an honour... it’s not hard when you have such great players around you.”
Any final words? “To be here, is a dream come true. “If I win, we party. If I don’t win, we party.”
