After finishing 6th last season in the Nigeria Professional Football League, Sunshine Stars have began to consolidate their team ahead of the 2016 season, which kicks off on the 31st of January, 2016.
The latest to join the Akure Gunners are Christian Pyagbara from Sharks FC or Port Harcourt and Markson Ojobo from Enyimba FC respectively.
Sunshine, who were led by Kennedy Boboye, who has now joined Abia Warriors failed to beat Enyimba in the final game of last season to qualify for the Caf confederations cup.
Markson Ojobo was part of the league winning squad but was sacked by Enyimba for breaching the club’s code of conduct, while Pyagbara was Sharks highest goal scorer last season.
Both players including former Sharks defender, Chima Akas, join the Owena Waves as they hope to compete for the league diadem when it resumes.
The Ondo state football outfit also hired coach Samson Unuanel to replace Kennedy Boboye, who left the club seeking new challenge else where.
Unuanel has vast Nigeria Professional Football League experience after Ocean Boys, Niger Tornadoes, Enyimba and Kwara United in addition to an assistant coaching position at the Super Falcons.
The disciplined coach holds an International DFB Coaching Certificates in Cologne (Advanced Level). Goal
