Some Premier League managers have reacted to the Pep Guardiola's announcement as the next Manchester City manager, and here are some of the things they said:
Liverpool manager said: "He is one of the best managers in the world, no doubt about this," said Klopp, speaking ahead of his side's match against Leicester City on Tuesday. "He had two big, big clubs where he has worked at and now he will do his job at Manchester City.
"Pep won everything in Spain, nearly everything in Germany, so I think to win everything in England, that is clear."
Also, Mark Hughes, the Stoke City manager, said that the challenge posed by the Barclays Premier League will be a stiff one for Guardiola.
"Until he gets here, we don't know what he will bring, but the Premier League is unlike any other league in world football," said Hughes, who knows both Barcelona and Bayern, having played for both clubs, and Manchester City, where he managed from 2008 to 2009.
"He has been very successful of course but he will still need a bit of adaptation."
Claudio Ranieri believes Guardiola will bring something fresh to the Barclays Premier League from a tactical perspective.
"Maybe he can bring something different," the Leicester City manager said in his press conference. "His style. His tactical matches. And something good for everybody here in England."
Alan Pardew has tipped Guardiola to make a success of his time in the BPL, but the Crystal Palace manager also offered congratulatory words for Manuel Pellegrini, the outgoing City manager, saying he wished City would win the title to reward the Chilean for his work.
"He has had a fantastic record and is going into another big, big club with huge resources, so he isn’t going to be a failure," Pardew said of Guardiola. "He will be successful again. He has the character and personality to carry the club.
"In this country, the football is different style. He is going to have to adapt. We will see how well he adapts. He has to beat the Palace twice yet!"
Rio Ferdinand, meanwhile, greeted the appointment with mock disappointment, suggesting the move was bad news for his former club Manchester United.
"Pep signing for City has really messed up my day," tweeted Ferdinand. "His records at Barca and Bayern are unreal." Premierleague
