Kano Pillars coach, Mohamed Baba Ganaru, has expressed confidence that his side are working hard to ensure they avoid their last season's mistakes when the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League gets underway.
Pillars finished eighth in the last league season, owing to the unfortunate robbery attack on their way to play their season opener, losing the title they won for three seasons in a row to Enyimba. and the former Kano Pillars player insisted that their pre-season training in Kaduna will be used to correct such mistake.
“We have been training in Kaduna for the new season and the target will be to avoid the mistakes of last season which saw us lose our title," said Ganaru.
“We have recruited some players we think will improve us and when we add that to the ones we have retained from last season, I think we will have a better squad,” he said.
“I cannot tell you that now because the other teams are equally preparing and we have to wait and see how it goes.
“I am just confident we will have a better team next season and as I said, we will work to avoid the mistakes of the past,” he added.
Pillars will open their season with a home fixture against former champions Enugu Rangers. Goal
