Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has admitted that he would love to avoid his former club, Borrusia Dortmund at the quarter final stage of the EUFA Europa League, saying they are the best in the championship so far.
The German tactician led Liverpool to a 3-1 win on aggregate after playing a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16.
However, the German is hoping that his side will avoid, Dortmund, who defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1, to progress on 5-1 aggregate in the next round of the competition.
"I don't want Dortmund next," he told reporters. "Why would I want the strongest team in the tournament?"
Instead, the German coach is eager to face his former employers in May's final at the St. Jakob-Park in Basel.
"All my friends in Dortmund want to play us – but only in Basel," he told BT Sport. "They won at Tottenham, not too bad.
"When you saw all the results there are only good teams in the race. It's cool, last eight – perfect."
A superb individual effort from Philippe Coutinho cancelled out Anthony Martial's earlier penalty, denting any chances of a United fight-back at 3-1 down - having also conceded an away goal.
And Klopp admits the second leg was troublesome before a "genius moment" from Coutinho.
He said: "Yes, there were moments we knew they would show a reaction.
"They were much more intensive than in the first game, we had a little bit of trouble with them winning second balls in the first half.
"But when we used the ball with the extra time we had, we created wonderful chances. De Gea had another good night. They got a penalty - I think it was a penalty - then Phil had a genius moment. It was a wonderful moment. Goal
