Newly promoted side, MFM FC have risen to the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League table after beating Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri 3-1 at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.
Stephen Odey put the Dr Olukoya boys' ahead in the 26th minute of the game, after coach Fidelis Ilechukwu reshuffled his starting
eleven that played 1st Lagos derby at the Onikan stadium last Sunday.
Proceedings in the first 45 minutes ended with the home team taking a lead, but just a minute and few seconds into the second half, Joseph Emiloju doubled his side's lead, putting the ball at the right corner of the post.
Ohamacham Chinedu pulled one back for the Ladan Bosso's men in the 65th minute of the game, giving them a lifeline to get back into the game, but Emmanuel Onuwa's goal busted their bubble.
The Lagos side, after losing to Shooting stars of Ibadan a few weeks ago have not lost a game, winning four of their last six games, drawing one and losing one.
MFM will hope to continue their winning streak when they visit 15th place Heartland of Owerri in their next weekend.
