Head coach of Elkanemi Warriors, Ladan Bosso, has congratulated the coach of MFM fc, Fidelis Ilechukwu following their 3-1 victory over his side, but insisted that fatigue costed the Maiduguri side the game.
The former Nigeria U20 gaffer also added that his side, which is full of new players are yet to blend,
following the departure of most of the players that represented the club last season.
following the departure of most of the players that represented the club last season.
Bosso said the next thing to do is to go back to the drawing board, haven't seen their lapses in that game against MFM, coming from their victory over Enyimba in their previous NPFL game.
"Congratulations to MFM, we have lost, go back to the drawing board, look at where we have problem, technically and administratively, and know how we'll get it right the next time."
"Officiating was perfect and we lost due to fatigue, the second problem is that the fatigue has taken a toll on the players, and that made all their efforts fruitless today, that is just the major reason. 48 hours journey, a player was ready to come and play, everything is on ground but when it was time to go to the airport, they say it's only nine tickets on ground, we had to think of the road."
"And it would not be nice for me to allow some players fly while others go via the road. We got here around 8pm since on Friday, I think we just have to work on that, an away match of that distance, maybe we take off on Wednesday or Thursday, it'll be better for us."
"Yes ofcourse, the first three matches we lost straight, for me it was an expected end, because for a team in the premier league, those boys that played for them last season, relatively they were not too bad, they were able to pencil down fifteen that will stay, but out of the fifteen, five still left when it was certain they will play for the club but they got good offers elsewhere, and out of the remaining ten, six are down with injuries, an extended injuries from last season, so I'm left with only four players."
"All these players you saw today are new players and we are battling blending for now"
"Not really, Musa has even shed some weight, he's a drop out player from Kano Pillars. I signed him for Kano Pillars from a feeder team and while on the continent, he was doing well, and even when Pillars dropped him with the likes of Sambo, I told him to come to Elkanemi to help my team and since he came, he's not been doing badly in his first four games for the club, but today, the issue of fatigue that set on them generally. Today's loss was a team problem and not one person or another."
"The biggest problem of this team now is attack, if the attackers were holding on to the ball, but we lost most balls in the attack, and that was why our opponents had an edge, because if we lose ball to the attack, the defenders will build from the back for their attack and it'll be difficult a team."
We've seen it all today, I'm a coach, and I'm a technical person and we know how to get it, the outcome of today's game has helped us to itemised those areas we have problems, we'll work on them and very soon we are going to be there. The league is still young complain and too young to claim the title."
"I'm happy with the turnout of fans at the agege stadium today, and also with the reception we received here, I don't even know Agege stadium is like this, I'm happy about it and it's a welcome development as far as Nigerian football is concerned." Ladan Bosso concluded
Meanwhile, Fidelis Ilechukwu of MFM FC attributed his side victory to God Almighty, adding that his club has given him an opportunity which he vows never to abuse.
Ilechukwu, also said that his side will do their best in their next game against Heartland, but disclosed that there would be time for defeats.
"It was better and we thank God for it. It's my dream as well but MFM has really changed my life, they've made it possible for me to be here and I won't abuse the opportunity. Everything they have done for me to come up to this level is my dream as well."
"Hmmm, my concern is not Ladan Bosso, because he's still one of the best till today, i won't say because he lost today that I'm the best, he's my boss anytime anyday and he's still better than me."
"But may be their problem may be the team or financial part of it which may be affecting the team, so we beating them doesn't mean we are better, but today we've won and we have to thank God for it."
"All is favour and grace, and with these two ingredients, anything good might happen in our next game against Heartland in Owerri, because we are going there to do our best, but if the result turns round, we'll take it in good faith because it is not about winning, days of losing are coming as well and we must accept it in good faith."
"We never looked down on any team, all the games we've played, we played them as if they were our last, that's our secret."
"No, I don't think I can answer that question because the journey is far. May be the likes of Enyimba, Kano Pillars, Nasarawa United are always favourites in the NPFL. They have the best players, so I can say we'll play continental championship next season because it is too early."
"Just may be when the season remains four matches to go, then we can say whether we will or not, for now we are simply favoured, and if the favour is there, we may be there as one of the continental teams." MFM coach rounded off
