Super Eagles stand-in coach , Samson Siasia, has axed the trio of Stanley Dimgba, Segun Oduduwa and Usman Mohammed from the national team camp due to lateness.
The above named players are part of the 22 Nigeria Professional Football League invites for the
Dream Team VI’s friendly against Brazil U23 friendly.
Dimgba featured for Sunshine Stars in their 1-1 draw against Ifeanyi Ubah FC at the Akure Township Stadium on Sunday.
“We cannot have those three in camp anymore,” said Siasia. “This is very serious business, and only serious –minded persons can be involved.
“They reported late to the camp of the U-23 team, so they cannot be tolerated in the camp of the senior team.
“I have said it over the past few days that the right mentality would count big among the traits we are looking for in the players to feature against Egypt.”
The players were part of the Nigeria U23 squad that won the Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Senegal in December 2015.
Their exclusion means that only 40 players are now in contention for shirts in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations double date against Hector Cuper’s men , with 19 home boys to train for two weeks before the arrival of 21 foreign based players on the week of the first game in Kaduna. Goal
