Antonie Griezmmann's Double Sends Barcelona Out Of Champions League

Defending champions, Barcelona have crashed out of this year's UEFA champions league after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the Vincent Decaldron on Wednesday night.

Argentine's Antonie Griezmann gave Atletico Madrid the lead in the first half of the game through a header in the 36thh minute
and doubled his side's lead through an 88th minute penalty to help his side progress to the final four of the championship.

Barcelona had all the possession in the entire game but all their efforts were unproductive as Diego Simeone's men cruise through to the semi final on a 3-2 aggregate.

While Bayern München are through to the last four of the UEFA Champions League for the fifth season running after coming through a tough examination in Lisbon.

Raúl Jiménez's goal before the half-hour mark briefly brought this quarter-final level but once Arturo Vidal had driven in a killer away goal there was only one likely winner.

Thomas Müller made it 2-1 soon after the restart and though Talisca's fine free-kick gained Benfica parity on the night, the Bavarians were home and dry.

Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid have now joined Real Madrid and Manchester City for the semi final pairing of the championship, which will hold on Friday.
