Barcelona survived Atletico Madrid's scare after coming back from one goal down to beat the Diego Simeone's tutored side 2-1 at the Nou Camp in the first leg of their UEFA champions league clash on Tuesday night.

The Catalans struggled for the rest of the first half but all their efforts failed to result into a goal for them until in the 70th minute, when Luis Suarez tapped in Jordi Alba's volley to give Barca a lifeline in the game, and four minutes later, the Uruguayan forward gave his side a lead for the first time in the game.
The central referee, who is from Germany gave seven Atletico players yellow while Barcelona players got three, as both prepare for the second leg at the Vincent De Caldron next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich edged Benfica 1-0 at the Alianz Arena on the same night as Arturo Vidal's goal distinguished both sides.
