French Ligue 1 side, Olympique Lyonnais, has told Samuel Umtiti he can join Spanish champions, Barcelona in the coming season.
This was revealed by the French side president, Jean-Michel Aulas, who revealed that they had known that the 22-year old would not stay long with the club.
Umtiti has been on the radar of the Catalans alongside Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos following the departure of Dani Alves from the club.
Barcelona have reportedly agreed to sign the central defender for a fee of £24.6m as the club has confirmed that they won't prevent the France international from joining Barcelona.
"We already know that it is only a matter of time for Umtiti to leave. Samuel has an exclusive agreement for him to join Barcelona," Aulas told RMC Sport.
"We promise him he could play for the club of his heart whenever he so wished. It’s part of the commitment which we have made, as was done for Karim Benzema when he went to Real Madrid.
"Right now, Samuel is with Les Bleus and is focussed on the Euro and the fact that he can play Sunday against Iceland. If the three parties agree, it is possible that he will leave us."
