Lagos SWAN Cup 2016: 18 Teams Battle For #100,000 Top Prize

The defending champions of the Lagos SWAN Cup, Sportsvision, have been drawn in group C for the 2016 edition of the championship, which kicks off this Friday with veterans game.

The draws took place on Tuesday at the SWAN Secretariat, national stadium, Surulere, Lagos with eighteen teams- divided into four groups and they will be battling for the top price of a hundred thousand naira.

The first and the second runners up according to the organisers of the event will get seventy thousand and fifty thousand respectively.

This year's edition, which is sponsored by Winners Golden Bet will also feature a three-day medical check ups for media persons and stakeholders in the sporting industry.

The representative of Golden Winners Bet, Femi Junaid, said it is a pleasure for his organisation to support the SWAN championship, saying the two industries both compliment themselves.

He added that next year will be better than this year, adding that WGB was limited in its sponsorship this year due to the economic situation of the country.

Group games will kick off on Monday, while the final match and presentation of award- both individual and team will take place on Friday.

Goal.com and New Fan Zone will be making their debut this year, while Brila fm returns to the championship and Sportsday will not be represented this year.
