Head coach of the Senegalese national U-20 team, Joseph Koto has expressed his confidence in his team's ability to qualify for the Fifa U-20 world cup.

The host country fell to the superiority of the Manu Garba's men in the opening game of the African Youth Championship, which kicked off yesterday.

He added that he will go back to the drawing board and correct their mistakes to further prepare themselves for the remaining two games in the group stage.

"We have lost but it doesn’t mean we cannot qualify. There are three matches at this stage, we have lost one but there are two more. If we win the next two games, we can qualify".

"The boys did not start the game well. After we came back but could not score more goals".

"The defenders were naïve in the opening minutes and conceded two goals but I have confidence in my defence. They have learnt from their lessons and I hope they will be better for the next game".

The coach of the Young Lions of Teranga said that his boys were bittered about the loss, but will do better than they did on Sunday against the Flying Eagles. Cafonline
