Flying Eagles forward, Chidera Ezeh has expressed optimism that Nigeria will beat Senegal in the final of the African Youth Championship on Sunday, but insisted that the Manu Garba's side will not have it easy.

The two sides met at the opening game of the championship but with the Nigerian side stealing the show with a 3-1 victory over the host country in front of the fans.

Ezeh, who was left out of the semi final game against Ghana added that everyone in camp understands the gravity of today's game, and assured that his side will do all Nigerians proud.

“It’s an important game for us, it won’t be as easy as the first game between the two teams (which Nigeria won 3-1), but we will still carry the day,” said the 17-year-old FC Porto youngster.

“Senegal will be very strong, but we will also be ready because we have taken each game we have played here like a cup final.”

The Young Eagles must thread with care in the final as the 45,000-capacity Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar is expected to on Sunday record its biggest crowd since the championship began two weeks ago.

However, Ezeh maintained the most important actors on the day will be the players themselves.

“It won’t be the crowd who will play this game, it will be the players who will decide the champions,” he offered. nff
