The Nigeria Football Federation have insisted that they have not scheduled any meeting with the 2013 AFCON winning coach, Stephen Keshi and his representatives on Tuesday contrary to the reports in some sections of the local media.

The NFF, who confirmed that the friendly game against South Africa on the 29th of March still stands are unsure who steers the Super Eagles sheep during the FIFA international break.

It was claimed in the reports that both parties will meet in Abuja for the second time in less than a week “to shore up talks” over the contract offered the former Togo and Mali coach by the NFF.

The NFF, through its technical committee chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu has now dismissed the reports as “untrue”.

“It is not true. I saw the reports on the pages of some newspapers and I was saddened because they are untrue. They should stop insinuating and have their facts right,” Anyansi Agwu told supersport.com.

The NFF chief then reiterated that the NFF would not be divulging the details of Keshi’s contract publicly.

“A contract is not supposed to be for public consumption. Both parties are discussing about the details of the contract and cannot tell Nigerians what and what have been discussed.

“Nigerians should wait until the contract is signed or not signed. When negotiations about personal terms of a contract are discussed, it is not supposed to be discussed on television, radio or the pages of newspapers.

“We are under oath not to disclose these to the public. We are obligated not to.

“People should stop putting words into my mouth or the federation. We (NFF) are following due process.

“Nigerians should be patient. We want to take our time to see that we make the best decisions for this country,” he said.
