Flying Eagles midfielder, Abdullahi Alfa has disclosed that they are gunning for the seventh African Youth Championship title in Senegal.

The nation's U-20 won their first game against Senegal 3-1 on Sunday and will book their semi final ticket provided they beat Congo in their send Group a game on Wednesday in Dakar.

Winning today's game will also qualify them automatically for the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand in May.

“We are here for the trophy,” declared Alfa, “We are not under pressure and we will take each match as it comes.”

Alfa further explained that the team is in good shape and that they are ready to tackle any opposition that comes their way, no matter what.

Nigeria's opponent in today's game, Congo have just one point after playing a 1-1 draw with Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday and the petite midfielder said he expects them to give the Flying Eagles a good match.

“We have seen that they are a very strong side, but we want to beat them so as to reach the next stage of the tournament,” said the player, who was part of the team who won the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
