2017 AFCON Qualifiers: Nigeria Must be ready for a tough game against Egypt

The coach of the national U-17 team, Emmanuel Amuneke, has predicted a tough outing for the Super Eagles  of against the Pharaohs of Egypt in the forthcoming 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nigeria will meet the seven-time AFCON champions enroute to the African showpiece that will be staged in Gabon two years' time, saying that the Egypt will Nigeria a strong tests when they meet over two legs in the 2017 Afcon qualifiers.

The 2013 AFCON champions have been drawn in Group G along side Egypt, Tanzania and Chad, with just one team to go through in all the groups available.

Amuneke said that the two teams are up for a test of their character in the Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
"It's a big test for the Pharaohs and for the Super Eagles too. Their matches will be very tough and we are all waiting for them," Amuneke told supersport.com.

"Both Egypt and Nigeria are suffering this time as the Arabic-speaking nation did not qualify for the last three editions of the Nations Cup and Nigeria missed the last one. So they will fight for the automatic ticket to Gabon between them.

"The side who will lick their wounds first and be more ready will reach their goal."

Amuneke played for Egyptian club, Zamalek, between 1991 and 1993 and he become one of the club legends helping them win the Egyptian league, Caf Champions League and the Super Cup.
