Meet three young players dying to play for Nigeria

Nigerian-born Spanish player, Derik Osede Prieto has express his intentions to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The 22-year old defender plays for Spanish La Liga side, Real Madrid and has also featured for the Spanish youth team, but has not sent an SOS to the Nigeria Football Federation to come for his hand to feature for the nation's national team.

“Playing for Nigeria at senior level will be a great honour. That is my father’s country,” Osede was quoted by Spanish media in an interview recently.

Osede, who has been promoted to the Real Madrid Team B played for Spain in the under-16 to under-21 levels appearing at the Uefa European Under-19 Championship held in Estonia in 2012 which Spain won.
Osede was born to a Nigerian father but also has a citizenship in Spain due to her mother.

Same also goes to Boluwatife Balogun, who's currently playing at the Barcelona youth team, and he has practically thrown himself to be caught by Nigerian Football Authority, but nothing has been done about that.

Kenneth Otigba of Hereenveen in Holland, who has a Nigerian father and a Hungarian mother, also expressed desire to wear the colours of Nigeria but these players are going to be snapped up by countries who will need their services.
