The Super Sand Eagles thrashed host nation, Seychelles 10-1 in the opening game of the 2015 CAF Beach Soccer Championship yesterday.

New injection into the team, Emeka Ogbonna, including the likes of Bartholomew Ibenegbu and Abu Azeez got a brace each, while Captain Isiaka Olawale, Victor Tale, Taiwo Adams and Emmanuel Ohweferi scored one each.

It was the biggest win of the first three matches of the competition, as Senegal romped past Morocco 7-3 and Madagascar, impressive at last week’s COSAFA Beach Soccer Tournament, brushed aside Ghana 9-4.
The 2007 and 2009 champions soared into the lead 2-0 at the end of first period, and then increased this to 7-1 at the end of the second period, before coasting home in the final period.

Audu Adamu Ejo’s wards will take on Egypt in another Group A match on Wednesday afternoon.

The win gives Nigeria three points and the top spot in Group A. Nigeria will next face Egypt on Thursday, hoping to secure another win and more points while Seychelles will face another tough opponent, Cote d’Ivoire.
