The Nigeria Football Federation have expressed happiness for Super Eagles player, Jude Odion Ighalo as he joins few Nigerians in the premier league next season.

His championship side, Watford Fc defeated Brighton 2-0 to replace one of the teams that will be relegated from playing in the English football topflight next season.

Last weekend victory for Watford made it fifth successive win and took their tally to 88 points, with only Bournemouth, who have 84 points and a match in hand, the only team that can catch up with them.

“We are very happy for Odion Ighalo, who was part of the last couple of friendly matches played by the Super Eagles (against Uganda and South Africa). The English Premiership is a great platform to be, and he can only become an even better player,” NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, said on Saturday.

Ighalo, who featured for the Nigeria U-20 and U-23 teams has scored 20 goals for the Hornets and played 65 minutes of Saturday’s win. His replacement, Matej Vydra scored the second goal for Watford. Troy Deeney scored the first goal.

Coach Slavosa Jokanovic and his wards celebrated wildly after Middlesborough lost 3-4 to Fulham at Craven Cottage and Rotherham held Norwich to a 1-1 draw. Boro and Norwich are also in contention for the top flight.

It marked the seventh win for Watford in their last nine away games and took the team to the Premiership following an eight-year absence. NFF
