De Gea agrees personal terms to replace Iker Casillas at Real Madrid

Despite helping Manchester United qualify for champions league football next season, the Red Devils goalkeeper, has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid, one step away from leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Reports coming out of the Spanish capital says that the 24-year-old star has reached an agreement with the La Liga giants for a deal worth around £4 million a year after tax and believed to be between five and six years in length.

The only thing keeping the United goalie from signing is that United and Madrid are yet to agree a fee for the player. It could reach upwards of £30m.

De Gea will be a huge loss to Louis van Gaal's side following another impressive season in Manchester which saw the Spaniard feature in the 2014-15 PFA Team of the Year.

If the deal pulls through, the former Atletico Madrid man, who has also arguably been United's player of the season, is in line to replace veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas at the Bernabeu.
De Gea is thought to be keen on the idea of returning to live in his former city, though he has maintained silence on the matter, a source of frustration for United who had wanted to tie him down to a new deal.

He set United fans' pulses racing earlier this week when he was spotted on a flight to Madrid as he took advantage of some time off to return to the Spanish capital.

The goalkeeper flew on an easy-Jet flight from Liverpool airport to Madrid on Monday afternoon before reporting back to training on Wednesday ahead of his side's Premier League clash with rivals Arsenal. completesport
