Former national team player, Etim Esim has told Flying Eagles coach, Manu Garba and his boys to ensure that they do not lose their June 1 clash against Brazil.
He further explained that since Nigeria has never beaten Brazil at the level of an organised competition, that a draw will be a good result for the team.
The African champions will kick off their FIFA U-20 world cup campaign with a cracker against five-time champions, Brazil and will be hoping to break the jinx of the South American dominance over them.
The Manu Garba's boys played three games while in Germany and won all scoring 14 goals and conceding just 3, which Etim believes it's a boost for the Nigerian contingent at New Zealand.
"We have never beat Brazil in any FIFA age group tournament- Nigeria defeated Brazil in the semi-final of the 1996 Olympic games- so even if its a draw we get it’ll be a big plus.
"The team have been incredible over time and I just hope the can take that form into the Junior World Cup proper." footballlive
