Superb Arsenal beat Aston Villa 4-0; retains FA Cup title

Superb Arsenal beat Tim Sherwood's Aston Villa 4-0 to clinch their 12th FA Cup title.
Arsenal were no doubt in control of the game but had a couple of their chances thwarted by the Villa goalkeeper, Shay Given.

Theo Walcott opened scoring for the Emirate outfit in the 40th minute of the game with a close range shot into the right side of the post while Arsenal took a 1-0 advantage into the half time break.

On returning to the pitch for the second 45 minutes, Chilean Alexis Sanchez's irresistible shot made it two for the Gunners and had one hand on to boost their title winning confidence.

World cup winning defender, Per Mertersaker made it three from a set-piece, and at this point, Villa knew that it was all over for them.

15 minutes into the end of the normal regulation time, Wenger substituted Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez for Jack Wilshere, Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and
French international, Giroud, who came in for Walcott got on the scorer's sheet in the 90th minute and sealed the trophy for the champions.

Arsenal after the game were able to retain the title they won last year beating Hull City 2-1 after 120 minutes.
