The best players will be selected for Congo clash- Dream Team VI coach

Coach of Nigeria's U-23 team, Samson Siasia has said that he was delighted following his side's 6-1 victory over Candy Football Club in a test match ahead of the 2015 African U-23 Championship qualifier against Congo billed for July 19.

The former Flying Eagles explained that all the players must fight for their place in the Dream Team VI squad to face Congo next month.

Goals from Kehinde Olanrewaju, Tombara Tiongoli, Uzor Adigibe and Godwin Saviour gave the Sia One-led boys the six goals while the Abuja based team got their lone goal through Ifeanyi Emmanuel.

18-years Taiwo Awoniyi and Godwin Saviour came in as substitutes in the game and both players combined well in the 70th minute to make it 6-0.

Candy FC which had the likes of Super Eagles player Juwon Oshaniwa, ex-Enyimba International striker Uduak Idem-Okon and Habib Makanjuola of Chelsea FC’s feeder team got their lone goal later on.

“I am happy that the players are all here to express themselves and fight for a place in the team,” Siasia told media after the game.

“They have to continue to play well to convince us that they are good enough to be part of the squad.

“We have less than a month to gel and we are trying to ensure that we have a team that can do the country proud,’’ he concluded. Goal
