English Premier League side, Liverpool have announced the signing of a 16-year-old Nigerian-born player, Bobby Adekanye from Barcelona on a free transfer.
The Nigerian-born footballer confirmed the move on Instagram on Thursday evening, posting the above picture and saying: “I am very happy to sign for Liverpool.”
The 16-year old youngster joined Barcelona from Ajax Amsterdam in 2011 where he grew up since leaving Nigeria at age four.
Adekanye, on moving to Barcelona couldn't play for the club for a whole year after the club got banned by FIFA for breaking youth transfer regulations.
The former Ajax Amsterdam youngster -- who has been compared to Arjen Robben -- joined PSV on loan but has now opted to continue his career at Liverpool.
The left-sided winger turned down interest from PSV and Ajax and wrote on his Instagram page: "I am very happy to sign for Liverpool." espn
