Onazi Confident Oliseh Will Qualify Nigeria For AFCON 2017

SS Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, has backed Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh to qualify the 2013 African Cup of Nations champions to qualify Nigeria for the 2017 edition of the championship in Gabon.

Nigeria, under former boss, Stephen Keshi missed out of the last edition hosted by Equitorial Guinea early this year, after failing to beat South Africa in their last qualifiers last November.

He added that the former Eagles captain is building a formidable team that will be able to conquer Africa once again, saying it be his honour to return to the team after seeing out his ban.

"Playing for Nigeria is always special to me. We are building a young, new and dynamic team right now and it will be nice to use the two friendly games to build some sort of momentum. I'm confident we are on track to become a better team and qualify for AFCON 2017,” he told AfricanFootball.com

“We will work hard collectively as usual and pray harder to get our target which is the AFCON 2017 ticket so we can make our lovely and loyal fans proud of us, and be proud of ourselves."
