AFCON 2017 Qualifiers: Kaduna Stadium Confirmed For Eagles-Egypt Clash

The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be returning to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The national team will be returning to the nothern part of the country for the first time since former Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama raised security issues just before the 2-0 victory over Chad in their
qualifiers opening campaign.

NFF General Secretary, Sanusi Mohammed, disclosed that there is still more work to be  done at the venue of the crucial encounter after leading a delegation on Thursday to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium for an inspection.

"We have seen every part of the stadium, and it seems ready for the Eagles-Pharaohs clash, but there is still some work to be done to ensure we have a perfect atmosphere come March 26th."

The NFF General Secretary however appealed to the state government, through the chairman of the Kaduna Football Association Abdulkadir Kabaka to ensure the stadium maintains a high level of readiness and standard for such high calibre game.

The first leg of the Nigeria and Egypt AFCON 2017 qualifier was moved forward by three days by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), following a request by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The
second leg will now be played on March 29th.

The Super Eagles are second on the log with four points from two games, behind Egypt who have six points from same number of matches. and both sides will face each other in March. NFF
