Abia Warriors Job Excites Coach Abdullahi Biffo

Abia Warriors have replaced former coach, Kennedy Boboye with Abdullahi Biffo, who recently quit his position as Niger Tornadoes head coach.

The Umuahia based club was forced to look for another coach when former Sunshine Stars manager, Boboye resigned and blamed it on personal reasons.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed coach has described his appointment as a new chapter, saying he looks forward to working with the team.

Biffo will take over the club for the rest of the season, hoping to improve their performance on the log, after battling with dwindling form since they lost some players to injury and transfer to other clubs.

"I am pleased to have been asked to be part of this ambitious project," Biffo told Goal.

"This is a new chapter in my coaching career and I hope to help the club achieve its objectives."

"We shall work together to make this club a brand that will make the people of Abia State proud."

The unveiling took place at the Umuahia Township on Friday morning. and the coach will be expected to keep the team in the Nigerian topflight this season.

"We are pleased to have secured the services of a highly experienced coach like Abdullahi Biffo," an official of the club said.

"He has a vast knowledge of the game and has worked in some of the most competitive professional environments."

"His appointment fits in perfectly with this club’s vision and strategy to become a competitive and successful team in the Nigeria Professional Football League."

"His extensive experience at development level will also ensure that our club continues to be at forefront of the development of some of the finest young talents in this country."

Abia Warriors are 15th on the log with 36 points from 29 games, and their next match is against Lobi Stars in Makurdi.
