Nigeria Beat Denmark To Set Up Olympics Semi Finals Clash With Germany

Nigeria U23 have reached the last four of the men's football event at the ongoing Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil after beating Denmark 2-0 in their quarter final game on Saturday night.

Mikel John Obi opened scoring for the Samson Siasia's men in the 16th minute of the game after
benefiting from Ezekiel Imoh's cross and slot the ball at the left corner of the post.

The Nigerian side kept on pressuring all through the rest of the first 45 minutes in search of an additional goal, but ended the first half of the game with the lone goal advantage.

Samson Siasia kept his starting line up in the second half with Imoh Ezekiel and Sadiq Umar pressuring the Danish back-line,  one of which resulted in a corner that Musa Umar converted to seal the victory for the 1996 Olympic gold medalists.

Nigeria will now face Germany in the semi finals of the events, after they secured their passage to the last four with a 4-0 emphatic victory over Portugal earlier on Saturday.
