President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the Nigeria U23 national team following their qualification for the semi finals of the men's football event at the ongoing Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.
The Dream Team VI overpower their Danish counterpart 2-0 at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvado to
book a date with Germany in then last four of the Games.
John Mikel Obi and Umar Musa were the goal scorers as Nigeria edge closer to repeat the feat they achieved twenty years ago in Atlanta, and the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has commended the team, urging them to try a little harder and bring the medal home.
"A good game from our Dream Team. Congratulations to them, and to all Nigerians."
President Buhari equally appreciated everyone representing Nigeria at the Olympics this year, most especially to Chierika Ukogu, who funded herself to the games in Brazil and did well for Nigeria.
"I'm equally proud of all our athletes flying the Nigerian flag in Rio. Well done to @cukogu, who made it to the finals of her event today."
