Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, has tipped West African representative in the African Cup of Nations final, Ghana to lift the 30th edition of the 2015 edition of the championship ongoing in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars ousted the host country, Equatorial Guinea after beating them 3-0 in the semi-final to  book a ticket in the final against Ivory Coast who stunned Algeria to progress.

Yobo, who admitted that the failure of the Super Eagles to defend their title forced him not follow the ongoing Afcon, but believes Avram Grant-led side have shown enough resilience to annex the trophy for the fifth time.

“I don’t watch the Africa Cup of Nations, with the Super Eagles not being in the tournament, my interest is not there,” the former Everton and Fenerbahce defender was quoted in the Daily Post

“I tip Ghana to win the tournament. As our brothers and long term allies, I would like them to win the tournament. Above all, I think they have a good team.”

Yobo retired after the FIFA world cup in Brazil last year where Nigeria got to the second round of the tournament- losing to France by 2-0 nothing.

Yobo scored seven goals for the Super Eagles since making his debut in 2001.  footballlive
