Asisat Oshoala Joins Arsenal Ladies

Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala has joined Arsenal Ladies and will be wearing jersey number 24 for the club.

The Nigerian international, who won the maiden edition of the BBC women’s footballer of the year award joined the Gunners from their rival club, Liverpool ladies on Friday.

Oshoala, became the first African footballer in the Women’s Super League when she signed for Liverpool in January.

This was due to her performance in the last edition of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, where she scored seven goals in six matches and won Golden Boot and Golden Ball.

Manager Pedro Losa said: “Asisat is a fantastic talent and will be a great addition to our squad. She is quick, with excellent feet and has proven she can score goals so it’s very positive she has decided to join us.”
