Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh is scheduled to appear at the House of Representatives sports committee in Abuja on Thursday for the first time after his resignation as the national team coach, and the sports minister, Solomon Dalung, has confirmed he'll be at the hearing.
The minister was one of the people who pleaded with the NFF not to sack the ex-international after a poor performance at the 2016 African Nations Championship, CHAN, in Rwanda, where Nigeria
could not qualify for the knock out stage of the tournament, despite amassing four points from the first two games.
The 41-year old pundit-turn-manager will give an account of why he suddenly resigned as the Eagles manager with just a month to a crucial 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.
“The sports minister has insisted he be part of the committee’s hearing and so he will be in attendance on Thursday,” a sports ministry official informed.
The sports minister ordered that Oliseh should not to be sacked when Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick presented a recommendation of the technical committee that the coach be fired at the peak of the disagreement between the NFF and the coach.
The NFF have maintained this briefing is a major distraction as the Super Eagles are preparing for must-win AFCON qualifiers against Egypt holding March 25 in Kaduna Africanfootball
