Uruguay forward, Luis Suarez, has broken Ronaldo Da Lima's Spanish league goal record, after scoring four goals in Barcelona's 8-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.
The former Liverpool player took his goal tally in a season to 49 goals for the season, two above Ronaldo's 47 goal record set during the 1996-97 campaign, and he still has five games to go.
The Uruguayan, who had been goalless in Barcelona's last three games, which also saw them crash out of the champions league also assisted three additional goals on the night.
Suarez set a new La Liga record by becoming the first player to have a hand in seven goals in a single game, and the former Liverpool striker has also now surpassed one of Barca’s greats.
Suarez still has some way to go to overtake Lionel Messi, who holds the record for Barcelona after scoring 73 goals in the 2011–12 season. Goal
