Manchester City would have Joe Hart to thank for keeping clean sheets against Real Madrid on Tuesday night in the first leg of their first UEFA champions semi final clash at the Ethiad stadium.
The Ronaldoless Galacticos, who weren't really in the first half due to Karim Benzema's sloppiness
took charge of the second half, all thanks to David Silva's injury which collapsed City's midfield.
The England shot-stopper said he wasn't disappointed, adding that they will go ahead and fight for everything in the second round next Wednesday.
He said: "We’re not disappointed. We’ve set it up for a good, old-fashioned rumble in the Bernabeu and we’re ready for it."
"We’ve got a brilliant squad and everyone is fit now. We’ve got an important game on Sunday which we’ll turn our focus too."
Corroborating Hart's assertion, captain Vincent Kompany insists the club have an excellent chance of reaching next month’s final at the San Siro.
He said: "0-0 is a dangerous score. The moment we manage to score in Madrid it will be a very different game."
"It’s hard to keep a clean sheet against such a good attacking side. Overall, we can proud of what we have achieved in the first leg of this tie. We couldn’t have wished for more at this stage. There are 90 minutes with it all to play for next week."
The match was a tactical affair, with few chances for either side, but Kompany is looking to ensure that the defence keep it even tighter in the second leg next Wednesday.
"They had a clear gameplan. They tried to catch us on the break like they’ve done in most of their big games," the Belgian added.
"Hart had to pull a few save but there were many from set pieces so we need to look at that and make sure that doesn’t happen. I thought on set pieces we were dangerous as well but it’s too close to call at the moment."
