Abia Warriors Terminate Chison Chikatara's Wydad Casablanca's Deal

Abia Warriors have confirmed through their chairman, Emeka Inyama that Wydad Casablanca's deal for CHAN hatrick hero, Chisom Chikatara, has been cancelled over what they refer to as breach of contract.

Chikatara agreed to join the Moroccan topflight side on a three-year contract early this year, in a deal
worth $500,000, while the player's salary would a sum $250,000 a year.

But, Wydad failed to keep their promise of paying the striker's salary immediately the agreement was signed, made the chairman to call off the contract.

However, Inyama first hinted last week that the deal was heading for the rocks as the Moroccans were yet to pay the club and player any dime.

"The deal with Wydad is cancelled," Inyama told AfricanFootball

The decision of Abia Warriors comes at a time when the chairman said there has been renewed interest in the striker who shone at the last CHAN in Rwanda.

"There is a renewal of interest in the player as we have received offers from all over Europe for him now – Austria, Germany, among other countries," he informed.

"We will study these offers before we decide on the boy’s future."
