League Management Company chairman, Shehu Dikko, has disclosed that Gianni Infantino may not be able to watch any Nigeria Professional Football League game live, saying the FIFA president has asked to attend U U13 and U15 teams play.
Dikko, who is the 2nd NFF vice president said he hopes Swiss will be able to squeeze one of the domestic league games in his itinerary in his two day working visit to Nigeria.
The LMC chairman dropped this hint in TALK ABOUT NPFL,NNL,NWPL WHATSAPP GROUP on Friday evening.
Dikko said: "Note, Infantino specifically requested to attend a youth game like U13 and U15 because in FIFA tournaments that has been our comparative advantage due to our successes at that level. So he want to see our boys playing at that level, first hand".
"Also, the LMC in conjunction with NFF is hosting Infantino and his team to a welcoming cocktail party upon his arrival on Sunday by 7pm in Abuja which would have in attendance the diplomatic Community, government and business functionaries as well as clubs and football stake holders and indeed we did tried all we could to schedule a Sunday night match between Rangers and Lobi in Enugu so it can be the match that would be shown on all the big screens at the Cocktail venue".
"Unfortunately this could not work as the satellite time has already been booked by super sport and thus they only have space to do a 4pm match which is meaningless as infantino would only be arriving around 6pm. So we left the original schedule live match for Sunday 4pm to go ahead".
"However, we did work with Supersport to prepare a special program package reviewing the last 3 seasons of the NPFL and all the strides made as well as showcasing the big matches which will now be aired by Supersport during the period of the cocktail so Infantino and the other guests at the event would see and appreciate the best NPFL".
"So be rest assured we are on top of it so as showcase NPFL to Infantino and his team".
