Rivers United's Christian Weli has admitted that their Nigeria Professional Football League match day 26 game against Shooting Stars this weekend will be tough, but hopes that victory over the Oluyole Warriors will them in their title chase.
The Port Harcourt base side will be playing the Oluyole Warriors the second time in about five days at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium on Sunday, after defeating the Gbenga Ogunbote's men in the round of 16 of the Federation Cup.
Rivers, who are 3rd on the log after 27 games will be going into the game with confidence following their 1-0 win at home over Niger Tornadoes last weekend and a 3-2 over Shooting.
"The most important thing for us is the next game. If you combine the determination of the places where we live with hard work, you will know that we only need to do so in the field. If we get three points we will be very happy and fulfilled knowing fully well that we have done well in the last one week," Weli told Goal.
Weli insisted that his side must maintain their form, saying that "it is very important to win to get the three points,"
"To be honest with you, this game will not be easy. We are looking at winning the league title, while they are battling relegation."
"We just need to be a strong team. If we can win the game, it will be great. It's very important to win to get the three points," he added.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars are still looking for a way out of the relegation zone with about 12 games to go this season.
