Bad Pitch Was Responsible For Our 3-1 Defeat In Port Harcourt- Sundowns Coach

Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane, has blamed the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium for his side's 3-1 defeat in Port Harcourt on Tuesday in their last CAF champions league tie against Enyimba.

Nigeria Professional Football league highest goal scorer, Mfon Udoh, who has started most of his
side's games this season from the bench scored twice in the 45th and the 50th minutes of the game, while Uche John opened scoring for the NPFL champions in the 24th minute.

Enyimba had earlier lost their first three group games losing twice to Zamalek of Egypt and once to Sundowns, but they mustard courage to win this last game to regain their pride despite losing out of the last four of the tournament.

Mosimane added that his lads failed to show the class they are made of because of the bad pitch, adding that if he had not instructed his boys to defend more, the home team would have scored more goals.

"In conditions like this we find it very difficult to play football," he told supersport

"We wish we had played on a proper pitch and we would have given you good football.

"We played well in patches, and if we weren't holding back Enyimba could have scored more. They had us in a corner.

Enyimba will now be focusing on their FA Cup semi finals clash against Nasarawa United and the remaining NPFL games.

Udoh bows out of this year's CAF champions league with nine goals.
