Onazi urge Nigerians to give Super Eagles more time

Super Eagles and SS Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the nation's senior national team as they make efforts to rebuild the team.

The Daniel Amokachi led team were in action during the FIFA international window against Uganda and South Africa, but the 2013 AFCON champions were unable to win any of their two friendly game; losing to Uganda and playing a 1-1 draw against the Bafana Bafana.

“What I just want Nigerians to know is that they should just try to be patient because you cannot get a new team with people who have not played with in my life and expect results”

“Nigerians should try and appreciate because it is not easy playing teams that have been together for a longer time. The old players in the team were just three or four”

“We trained just once and played a game then we trained again and played South Africa. I think for me, the team did well because we were just playing together and we got the result that we did”

“They should just still give us some time to train and when we pick up I think they will see more of the team and they would be happy” footballlive
