The Flying Eagles Are Still Under-performing- Manu Garba

The Nigeria's Flying Eagles may have beaten North Korea 4-0 in their second group game earlier today, but the coach of the side, Manu Garba has said that he's not satisfied yet with the performance of the team.

Garba, who lost his side's first game to Brazil 2-4 on Monday said he expects the team to be at their best at this point but admits the team is gradually picking up.

Two goals from Godwin Saviour, one from Kingsley Sokari and the last from Isaac Success sealed the 4-0 victory for the Nigeria's U-20 side who are now behind Hungary, who lost 1-2 to Brazil this morning.

“We have not got into our groove yet, we are only picking up gradually,” Manu admitted at a press conference after the win over the Asians.

The former U-17 coach praised his side's opponent for stepping up their game but wished he had scored more goals against an Asian team with no chance of progressing to the next stage after failing to win any of their first two group games.

“They gave a good account of themselves, they were lo better than they were against Hungary as they possessed the ball very well, but they have to improve in their finishing,” he remarked.

Manu said he would have loved to have more than four goals on Thursday.

The winners and runners-up in Group E could well be decided on goals difference after Hungary trounced the North Koreans on the opening day and Brazil are expected to massacre the Asians on Sunday in Christ Church.

“I would have loved that we won this game (vs Korea) by six, seven goals,” lamented Manu.

“All the same, the victory was most important for us.

“And on Sunday our final group game against Hungary will be a must-win.” Goal
