The United States Women National Team won their third world cup title after thrashing defending champions, Japan in the final of the 2015 FIFA Women's world cup in Canada.
The USWNT opened scoring 3 minutes into proceedings through Carli Lloyd and doubled her side's lead 2 minutes later.
Jillian Ellis' ladies scored their third goal in the 14th minute while Carli Lloyd completed her hat-trick for the night in the 16th minute of the game.
Japan, who made it to the final after beating England courtesy of Laura Bassett's own goal, were outclassed from the start and could not cope with the USA's set-pieces.
The Asian managed to pull one back before the end of the first 45 minutes of the game, and on resuming the second half, they got their second goal through an own goal scored by Julie Johnston to make the scoreline 4-2.
Just two minutes later, US got their final goal in the 54th minute which sealed their victory for the finalist in the last championship in 2011.
Meanwhile, Lloyd's third-minute opener was the quickest goal in a Women's World Cup final as she latched onto Megan Rapinoe's perfectly directed corner. The 32-year-old added another after Japan failed to clear a free-kick.
