Enyimba head coach, Paul Aigbogu, has blamed the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium for his side's loss to Zamalek in their first group game in June.
The NPFL defending champions were beaten 1-0 at home by five time CAF champions league winners in Port Harcourt before going ahead to lose 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns few weeks later.
Enyimba chances to the next round at the moment are very slim on the continental and Aigbogun has
insisted that his target is to get all three points at the Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo, knowing fully well that victories in the two remaining games will hand them a semi final ticket.
"The pitch (at the , Port Harcourt) was waterlogged when we played against Zamalek (on June 19).
"We dominated the game and the goal they scored was from something you cannot even refer to as a goalscoring opportunity."
"Our objective is to win on Sunday to get our campaign back on track and I believe we can do it," he told supersport
Aigbogun has also said that he hasn't given up on the NPFL title defence, insisting that the seven-time champions will not be throwing in the towel with nine matches remaining.
"It has not been an easy season for us but nobody here is giving up."
"We are six points behind the leaders (Enugu Rangers) but we have played a game less than them."
"In football, you don’t ever give up until the last game and that is what we will continue to do," he said.
Enyimba are expected to depart Nigeria for Egypt on Thursday.
